WEBINAR: Improper Payments: Reduce Fraud, Waste, and Abuse with the Do Not Pay Initiative
Since 2003, improper payments have exceeded $1 trillion in the Federal Government, and for over a decade, Congress has worked to bring those numbers down. Despite these efforts, improper payment levels have been on the rise since 2013. The Do Not Pay (DNP) initiative, aimed at curbing improper payments and preventing waste, fraud, and abuse, is a key program to achieving compliance with the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Improvement Act (IPERIA) of 2012 and to prevent the erosion of the public’s trust in federal programs.
This webinar provides an overview of the DNP initiative, a shared service platform operated by the Department of Treasury and available to all federal agencies to control their improper payments. The webinar also offers a deep dive into what implementing the DNP initiative can look like for a federal agency and highlights the many ramifications of such a project.
Facing the ever-increasing urgency to bring the rate of government improper payments under control, the DNP initiative is a powerful and efficient solution. With strong coordination, its roll-out can be a resounding success for your agency.
